Let it flow watercolour landscape

Do you have a hard time starting your page? Want to loosen up?

Try quickly drawing your landscape composition with your non-dominant hand. Notice in the video how I hold the pencil with my left hand and that I point it down, like I’m stirring a pot. Then play with layers of watercolour paint. Try different brushes, round and square ones, soft and stiffer brushes. Play with a variety of brushstrokes that go in different directions to. Quiet your inner critic, and just have fun!

Watercolours - Winsor & Newton (Payne’s Grey, Rose Madder), Opus Essentials (Yellow Ochre, Turquoise), Daniel Smith (Verditer Blue, Burnt Sienna)

Synthetic brushes (Opus Art Supplies)
