Nature’s Palette

with Nicole Warrington

Being in nature is always a very grounding experience for me

In this nature journaling inspired activity, I’ll invite you to visit a spot in nature - the forest, a field, the ocean, or simply a corner of your garden. After spending a few minutes appreciating your spot, you will collect colours for your nature’s palette. You can either collect real objects, or take photos of the colours you see.

Then either in situ, or back home, you will practice the soothing art of mixing watercolours, recording your favourites from your special location. This isn’t about mastering colour theory, it’s about the mindful experience of appreciating nature and being present with your inspiration and art supplies. Be sure to download the accompanying PDF.

[originally recorded for Life Book 2021 Taster Sessions, I’m delighted to now share this with YOU!]

“I found Nicole Warrington’s Field Notes session very therapeutic and I kind of lost the need to draw something absolutely perfect - which is quite freeing. I gathered objects during a morning’s planting session in my back garden and came in and drew them as I saw them straight away. Loved the process - thank you” - Rachel O.
